Morning Conditions Report for Sunday, April 23, 2023
Operating Hours: 9 AM to 4 PM

Good morning all and welcome to the last day of the 2022-2023 season. Today can’t help but be a bit bittersweet as we prepare to bid a hearty “farewell for now” to our winter family as they journey toward their summer’s adventures. Many of them will return in the fall but many will not, having been enticed by some other path, but most will take a little part of Hoodoo with them on their way. When a place has been loved as long and as well as Hoodoo a little bit of that joy imprints on the place and seeps into the soul of all who visit, or at very least that is the way it feels. To all of those we will see next year: We can’t wait to see you in fall and hear all about your adventures. To those moving on: You will be missed but we hope you go on to amazing things. To those we have not met: We can’t wait to get a chance to play with you. As for myself, who has been living in hearty denial of the end of another season, I will simply hug all of you I can and try not to cry too much where people can see me.

Mother nature sees fit to send us out with a damp one today though with only a tenth to a quarter inch of rain on the forecast I suspect it will be off-and-on-drizzly after the bulk of the moisture comes through in the morning. It will be a bit breezy today as well with sustained winds 10 miles per hour out of the southwest and gusts up to 20. Temperatures will top out around 41°. Ski surfaces are power-tilled today and should be soft and smooth since they never really froze up overnight. If anything you might want to make sure you have some fresh wax in case things get sticky.

Don’t miss out! You still have a chance to take advantage of our season pass sale through April 30 and get a deep discount on your pass for next year. Find out all of the details here.

As all good things must come to an end our Autobahn Tube Hill has now closed for the 2023 season. Huge thanks to everyone who came out to play this winter. We can’t wait to see you again next year.

It’s never the wrong time to get prepared for deep snow days. Learn best practices for reducing your risk of suffocation at deepsnowsafety.org and don’t forget to keep a close eye on your riding partner in the powder.
